Mexican Modernist Sterling & Gemstone Ring by Harms

Monumental Mexican Modernist ring from the enigmatic artist, Celia Harms. A heavy, flat, sterling silver band wraps around the finger, holding two stone spheres together in tension at the top of the ring. One green chrysoprase orb and one blue chalcedony orb sit in the band's curved shoulders, peeking though round windows in the silver. Contrasts in color blocks, and between two and three-dimensional forms, create a sculptural statement piece. The interior of the ring is signed "Celia Harms (illegible) 925 Mexico." The internet provides many images of Harm's fabulous jewels, but has revealed no biographical information about the woman herself. Circa 1960.

Details.....An approximate size 5.5. It cannot be sized. The top of the ring measures 19.8mm by 12mm, and the band is 6mm wide. The orbs measure 9.7mm in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
