Chic Taxco Sterling Silver Clamper Bracelet

A chic clamper bracelet with a half-round exterior edged in repoussé beads, made in Taxco, Mexico. The sterling silver bracelet is very cool. Bright high points and oxidized low points give the piece depth and character. The lightweight bracelet is hinged, making it easy to wear. The interior is marked "TH-105 925 Mexico." Circa 1980.

The city of Taxco is an important center for Mexican silver jewelry design. During the 1940s, Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for the designers and studio jewelers was the abundant supply of locally mined materials such as silver and semi-precious gems.
