A Victorian 9k gold and carnelian fob with elegant, Neoclassical lines. The fob's body is formed by curved gold tongues that sit upon a curvaceous base. A decorative ring tops the fob. The carnelian seal is bezel set in the base of the fob; the seal is engraved with a crowned shield bearing a crowned double-headed eagle. The double-headed eagle is an iconographic symbol dating to the Bronze Age that is associated with the concept of Empire. This fob will make a gorgeous pendant, and it provides a small mystery of heraldry. Circa 1860.
Details.....The fob measures 1.31" tall and the base is 0.70" by 0.90". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
