This Art Deco camphor glass necklace is embellished with lacy filigree and a wee glittery diamond. A rectangular plaque of sun-rayed frosted glass is set in a frame of engraved 14k white gold. White gold filigree traces an exquisite trellis design over the lower left corner of the plaque. A little diamond sits at the center of the pendant, nestled in a white gold lozenge. The delightful pendant hangs from its original filigree bale on an engraved paperclip chain; fine details that elevate the piece. Circa 1920.

Camphor glass was developed in the 1920s to be used in place of the more expensive rock crystal popular at the time. Camphor glass is made by treating clear glass with hydrofluoric acid vapors to achieve the signature frosted finish.

Details.....The chain is 16" long, and the pendant measures .74" by 1", 1.40" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
