Glittering Goldstone Bead Married Chain by Ancient Influences

Antique chain and coppery goldstone beads are married in this fabulous artisan necklace. The beads are hand knotted on gold silk, then paired with squoval-linked gold filled chain. The necklace clasps at the side with a large gold filled bolt ring. A watch hook and t-bar hang from a trefoil connecting link, perfect for displaying all of your best bits & bobs. The autumnal tones of this necklace are warm and inviting, with a touch of glittering glamour. Ingredients date circa 1890 to 1910.

The "gem" commonly referred to as goldstone is actually a type of specialized glass. It is created by mixing copper and other metal oxides with molten glass and allowing tiny crystals of metallic copper to form.

Details.....The necklace is 19" long, and the drop is 2.4" long. The chain measures 4.5mm wide, and the beads are 6.2mm in diameter.

I love using vintage findings, and am thrilled by the discovery of just the right split ring or hook for a piece. Small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of their charm.
