Hand Painted 18thc Miniature Locket Pendant

A hand painted miniature of a bewigged man in profile wearing a red jacked is set behind a beveled edge crystal and framed by a halo of paste gems. The reverse is a glass covered locket holding a bit of blue silk and a dried flower. The pastes have small black dots at their centers, this technique was used to draw attention to the culets and add depth. There are 2 small touchmarks on the reverse of the frame which appear to be French silver marks. The pendant is suspended from a new recycled sterling silver cable chain to which I have added a vintage swivel hook. This pretty little locket dates from the late 18th century.

Details.....The pendant is .98" across. The sterling silver chain is adjustable and can be worn at 16" or 18". In Very Good Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels.
