Language of Flowers Enamelled Sterling Love Locket

This exquisite guilloché enamel locket conveys, through the Language of Flowers, the joy of true, passionate love. Front and back of the pendant is enamelled in translucent white over a fine rayed pattern. A vibrant bouquet with a pink rose, a white daisy, a red wild rose, a purple aster, and a small cluster of forget-me-nots beautifies the locket's front; each of these blossoms symbolizes happy romantic love. The locket's interior is lined in green, with two intact frames. This special piece hangs on a modern sterling silver cable chain. Circa 1920.

Guilloché is an enamelling technique in which a precise pattern is engraved into metal, then covered with translucent enamel. The engraved patterns are visible through the enamel.
