A sentimental miniature painting depicts a man with an obelisk tombstone decorated with an urn and funerary drapes, mourning imagery common to the 19th Century. Obelisks were popular graveyard motifs during this era; they represent heaven and eternal life. The melancholy man wears a long coat, waistcoat, and breeches. This sepia-tone painting is preserved under crystal in a vintage 14k gold bezel. This somber pendant hangs on a 14k gold faceted cable chain.
Details...The chain is 18" long, and the pendant measures .81" by 1.30", 1.75" with bale. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
