This is an 1897 coin commemorating the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse of the coin depicts the veiled Queen with the inscription, "LONGI TVDO DIERVM IN DEXTERA EIVS ET IN SINISTRA GLORIA.". This translates to "Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour." (Proverbs 3:16). The reverse depicts the young Queen with the inscription, "VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN.MDCCCXCVII", which translates to "Victoria successfully completed the sixtieth year of her reign, 20 June, 1897". The medal is drilled, a jump ring is added, and it hangs on a modern sterling silver chain. This is a collectible and historic piece.
Details.....The chain is 17" long. The coin measures 1" in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
