A Peruvian tumi pendant, crafted in sterling silver. The elaborate double-sided ceremonial "axe" features a fierce warrior wearing a headdress over the curved blade. The pendant hangs on a vintage sterling silver curb chain. Circa 1960.

Tumi refers generally to the many kinds of sharp tools utilized in the Central Andes region, the most commonly known tumi is a ceremonial axe characterized by a semi-circular blade. The tumi is the national symbol of Peru, to hang a tumi on the wall symbolizes good luck.

Details.....The chain is 24" long, the pendant measures .80" by 1.95". In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and are considered part of the charm.
