Antique Moon & Star Necklace in Original Box

A Georgian astronomical-motif swag of pearl-set gold is displayed on sleek Victorian chain, all presented in its original fitted box. The necklace's central element is crafted in 18k gold and tiny pearls; a moon and star are flanked by graduated flower-fringed links. This piece would have originally been worn on a ribbon; however, later in the 19th Century fashions changed and the ribbon was replaced with fancy 14k gold chain. The result is aesthetically pleasing and quite wearable, the choker is supple and flows over the collar bone like silk. It fastens with a small slide clasp and a security chain was added at a later date, and the moon has a hidden chatelaine hook. The fitted box is gorgeous, old leather lined in blue velvet. A real treasure, ready for new romantic adventures.
