Art Nouveau Voluptuous Woman Sterling Brooch

This Art Nouveau brooch depicts a voluptuous woman, emerging from a leafy bower. Her face is beautiful, with seductive heavy-lidded eyes, high cheekbones and full lower lip. Her nose and upper lip have suffered a little wear over the years, but believe me when I tell you her cleavage makes up for the flaw. She wears a shawl draped over her curling locks. Repoussé jewelry making techniques give this piece its lovely three-dimensional quality. The back is marked "Copyrighted 1902 by Wm Link Sterling." This charming brooch is great; many Art Nouveau designs have become familiar over a century of reproduction, this one feels fresh and, frankly, pretty sexy.
