Attractive Shell, Turquoise & Sterling Silver Bead Necklace

This beaded necklace is so appealing, two styles of shell heishi beads are studded with turquoise nuggets and sterling silver balls. Thin white shell beads are strung on wire creating a cool ruffled effect. Five gorgeous turquoise stones, graduated in size and flanked by silver beads, are stationed around the necklace. The terminals are glossy dark brown shell beads finished with a decorative sterling silver "S" hook clasp. A very attractive piece. Circa 1970.

Heishi are small disc or tube-shaped beads made of shells or stones. They originate with the Kewa Pueblo people of New Mexico.

Details.....The necklace is 27.5" long. The shell beads measure 10.1mm in diameter. The turquoise nuggets measure between .90" by .60" to 1.27" by .91". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
