A large butterfly brooch with dazzling white rhinestones in a japanned setting. The round and marquis-cut stones are prong-set in the blackened costume metal, the stark contrast enhances the crystal's icy brilliance. This substantial jewel is signed "La Roco." Circa 1960.

La Roco jewelry is a brand name marketed by Layko Ross and Company, a wholesale manufacturing firm founded in Seattle, Washington, by a Russian immigrant named William Ross. La Roco operated from the 1920s through the early 1970s. DeLizza & Elster (the maker of "Juliana" jewelry), Selro, and Regency, also produced pieces for La Roco.

Details.....The brooch measures 2.54" by 2.67". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
