Let's Duette! We are presenting an exciting collection of Coro's Duettes, cunningly engineered brooches that come apart into two matching clips. This Retro design features a pair of rather uncanny horses. The gold-tone horse heads are set with rhinestones used to very dramatic effect; the ears are red marquis-cuts, their bristling manes are white baguettes, their forelocks are curled into saucy pompadours set with tiny white stones. Their eyes are pale blue marquise-cuts, hauntingly empty. Open the brooch's rollover pin, open the horses' clips, and the fur clips come off the frame that holds them together. A fur clip is a brooch that fastens with two hinged prongs; the sturdy prongs are intended for wear on furs but will work well on any heavy fabric. This brooch is marked "Coro Duette Pat.No. 1798867." This fascinating and collectible piece was made in 1947.

Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger established the New York accessories boutique Coro in 1901. In 1929, Coro purchased a manufacturing facility in Providence, Rhode Island, which became the world's largest costume jewelry facility.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.87" by 2.22", with each clip measuring 1.87" by 1.11". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
