Let's Duette! We are presenting an exciting collection of Coro's Duettes, cunningly engineered brooches that come apart into two matching dress clips. This is one of their classic designs, with two tropical birds sitting beak to beak in a bed of flowers. Cold enamel in blue, yellow and green paints their feathers and gives the flowers their pastel petals. White rhinestones pave the glittering silver-tone bodies. Pull the birds apart and the clips slide off a frame; the dress clips are backed with a hinged clip (kind of like a bookmark) that fastens onto the edge of a piece of fabric, and a rollover pin. Clever, colorful, and very collectible. Circa 1930.
Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger established the New York accessories boutique Coro in 1901. In 1929, Coro purchased a manufacturing facility in Providence, Rhode Island, which became the world's largest costume jewelry facility.
Details.....The brooch measures 2.46" by 2.46", with each clip measuring 1.23" by 2.46". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
