Enchanted Pastel Rose & Rhinestone Earrings by Sciaparelli

These Elsa Schiaparelli earrings are an enchanted dream of pastel pink-violet roses blooming amidst iridescent briars. Magical molded glass roses and Aurora Borealis marquise rhinestones spike the thorny gold-tone earrings. Opaque and translucent stones are paired to interesting effect. Tiny pink accent stones twinkle like dew drops. Each clip-on earring is signed "Schiaperelli." Fiercely romantic, these earrings are feminine with an edge. Circa 1950.

Elsa Schiaparelli was a prominent Italian fashion designer. In 1927, she created the house of Schiaparelli in Paris, which she managed from the 1930s to the 1950s. She was celebrated for her surreal designs. Schiap, as she was often known, collaborated with Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau, and Coco Chanel was her greatest rival.
