Funky Copal & Coral Bead Necklace

A bold vintage necklace of copal and coral beads. Big copal chunks alternate with rough coral tube beads. Hammered silver cubes and small silver rondel spacers add metallic accents. This strand of beads fastens with an oxidized sterling silver bolt ring. Warm colors and organic forms give the necklace a fun, funky feel. Circa 1960.

Copal is hardening tree resin that aspires to someday be amber. It is an interesting substance found all over the world and that serves many different functions.
