Moons were a popular motif at the turn of the 20th Century; mysticism entered into every area of life as people contemplated the new century and what it might bring. This crescent moon brooch is a graceful arc of 14k gold set with a row of natural pearls. A layer of highly polished silver shines on each of the crescent's points. The enchanting piece fastens with a secure rollover clasp, and bears a maker's mark on its underside. This is a dainty brooch, ideal for light fabrics. Circa 1900.
