Magnificent Large Original Antique Rose Cut Diamond Ring

Set in the center of this incredible ring is a 1.5ct rose cut diamond surrounded by a double halo of rose cut diamonds, the ring has a total diamond weight of 2.25cts. The diamonds are all set in silver, closed back, each held in a cut back collet setting. The underside of the ring and band are at least 14k yellow gold. The wealthy set silver on gold to keep the silver from tarnishing their clothes or skin. The gold band has lovely details. Closed back, foiled, gems were made for low light. They only had candle light or fire light and later gas light .
