Retro Rolled Gold Gruen Curvex Watch

A very cool Gruen Curvex watch with nice early Retro detailing. The "Curvex" part of this Gruen describes the rectangular watch case and crystal; these elements curve over the wrist, and the crystal is faceted with horizontal planes. Handsome Arabic numerals are painted on the main dial, both the main and subdial are painted in black and gold. The original rolled gold band has a fun aesthetic, it feels a bit Steampunk. Gruen Curvex watches typically feature 17-jewel manual-wind movements. Circa 1935.

The Gruen Watch Company was one of the United States' largest watch manufacturers, producing timepieces from about 1894 to 1958.

Details.....The watch case measures 1" by 1.6"; the band is 7.5" long and .45" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections and wear should always be expected in vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
