A fun and whimsical novelty locket, shaped as a basket with man riding a donkey enameled on its lid. The silver body of the locket is modeled as a three dimensional woven basket. Cloisonné enamel frames the painted image of a well dressed man riding a saucy donkey into the sunset. The hinged lid is held securely closed with a latch and a jump ring has been added to the bale. The perfect size for holding a small sentimental item, like a baby tooth or a lock of hair. Circa 1950.
