A yummy butterscotch-colored Bakelite clamper bracelet with voluptuous lines. The bangle is hinged at the back, with chubby terminals that meet on top of the wrist. Mouthwateringly glossy, irresistible like a Werther's confection. Circa 1950.

Bakelite was the first plastic made from synthetic components. Developed by chemist Leo Baekeland in Yonkers, New York, 1909. Bakelite jewelry became fashionable in the 1920s due to its sleek, modern look and substantial, high-end feel. The wide variety of colors and visual textures made available by Bakelite kept it popular through the 1950s.

Details.....The bracelet is 1" wide and its exterior measures 2.95" by 2.45". It has a 6.5" inner circumference. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your antique and vintage jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
