This captivating Belle Epoch aquamarine and diamond chatelaine brooch is a jewel fit for a fairy princess. A 7.44cts oval aquamarine sits at the heart of the piece glistening like an enchanted pool. Forty (wee) old European cut diamonds spangle the brooch's lacy open work body. The gems are prong, bead, and collet-set in icy platinum backed in sunny 14k yellow gold. The back of the brooch bears an early security clasp and a chatelaine hook; the hook allows for the addition of a pendant. This brooch embodies the ethereal romance of the era and would make a marvelous bridal jewel. Circa 1900.

Gem Details..... The oval faceted aquamarine weighs 7.44cts, with eye-clean clarity and light, very slightly grayish, very slightly greenish blue (vslgB 3/3) color. Forty old European cut accent diamonds have a 0.28tcw, with SI1-I1 clarity and G-H color.

Details..... The brooch measures 1.06" by 0.82" wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear; we consider it part of their charm.
