Charming Retro Nosegay Brooch by Pennino Bros.

A charming Retro nosegay brooch from Pennino Bros. Two different flowers are sculpted in sterling silver; one has magenta rhinestone petals with round and baguette white rhinestone pistils, the other has red petals with a cluster of round white stones at its heart. Silver details edge the petals. The nosegay's stem and leaves are gilded in rose gold. This is a substantial and well-made piece. Signed "Pennino Sterling." Circa 1945.

The Pennino family were fine jewelers in Italy before immigrating to the United States in the early 1900s. Otto, Frank, and Jack Pennino founded Pennino Brothers in 1926. The company's high-quality costume jewelry could be found in many elite retail stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue.
