Decadent Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Scatter Pin Set

A set of three matching sterling silver front Art Nouveau brooches scatter pins. Lush poppy blooms and a sensual woman are wreathed in voluptuous waves; the woman is represented in profile, her heavy lidded eyes are closed. She wears a headdress that brings French jeweler René Lalique to mind. Do the whiplash lines represent her long flowing tresses, or do they represent narcotic smoke rising from the poppies? Women paired with poppies was a very popular motif during this decadent era, and these pins are a fascinating example of the theme. All four brooches fasten with c-clasp pins. Circa 1890.

Details.....The brooches measure .66" by .86". In Very Good Antique Condition. Some wear should be expected on all vintage and antique pieces, we consider it to be part of their charm.
