Edwardian Rhodochrosite & Sterling Silver Brooch

A gorgeous specimen of rhodochrosite is set in this classic Edwardian brooch. The rhodochrosite is cut in a glossy oval cabochon; it's set in a sterling silver bezel, and framed in twisted silver wire. Mottled pink, gray, and black hues give the stone its delicate beauty. The brooch fastens with a c-clasp. There are small flecks of red paint on the stone's back, not visible when worn. Circa 1900.
