Ethereal Silver & Gray Pearl Brooch by Meijis

An ethereal brooch of gray pearls and silver from Meijis of Tokyo. Japan. The body of the brooch is a scrolling frame of 950 grade silver. Silvery-gray cultured pearls stud the brooch's silver tendrils. The brooch resembles an abstract nosegay of sweet pea blossoms. This exquisite brooch comes in its original box, perfect for gifting. Circa 1950.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.

Details.....The brooch measures 2.63" by 1.63", and the pearls range from 5.2mm to 11.4mm in size. The box measures 3.57" by 2.57". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear; we consider it part of their charm.
