Wartime romance. This World War II era brooch spells out the name of a soldier's sweetheart. A small white celluloid plane brooch has red stars on each wing; this represents a WWII U.S. Army plane. A silver-tone chain trails from its tail, displaying alphabet charms that read "Nancy." The other end of the chain hangs on a tiny Army wings pin, creating a sassy swag. Sweetheart jewelry was quite fashionable during World War II, they often bore general endearments or personalized messages. This is a lightweight piece cast in rather fragile plastic, its value is historical and sentimental. Circa 1940.
Details.....The plane measures 1.71" by 1.45", the letters are .36" by .78", the wings are .73" by .17". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, it is a part of its charm.
