A fantastic early sterling silver brooch from the important artist Margot de Taxco. The top of the brooch is sculpted with graceful flourishes and beading that recall feathers in Pre-Columbian design. Two long dangles of elaborately sculpted and articulated links depend from the brooch's top. The piece fastens with a secure rollover clasp. This brooch is quite large and weighty, it's a superb addition to any collection of fine Mexican silver work. Circa 1940.

Signed on the back "Margot de Taxco," "Sterling Made in Mexico," and with the design number 5158. Margot de Taxco designs were numbered 5100 to 5790, so this is her 58th design.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.76" by 4.75". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
