Three Little Penguins Brooch by Marcel Boucher

Three little penguins, Mama and two chicks, march across icy white rhinestones in this adorable Boucher brooch. The rhodium-plated metal birds are enameled in black, with bright rhinestones encrusting their white bellies. This collectible piece is signed "Boucher 3279." Circa 19450.

Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. He was born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, Boucher apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.
