This whimsical wheelbarrow brooch from Boucher is overflowing with sparkling crystal hearts. Bright white round and baguette rhinestones enhance the wheelbarrow's rhodium-plated body. And its little wheel turns! A charming and collectible piece, marked "5965 Boucher." Circa 1940.

Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. He was born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, Boucher apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.
