Beguiling Green Rose Necklace & Earring Set by Schiaparelli

Words fail. This captivating green rose necklace and earring set is from the inimitable couturier Elsa Schiaparelli. Molded green glass roses bloom amidst stylized briars. Green and peach Aurora Borealis marquise rhinestones spike the thorny links, while tiny round accent stones twinkle like dew drops. The silver-tone costume necklace fastens with a hook and extender chain, all studded with iridescent green rhinestones. Matching clip-on earrings are each set with a glowing green rose. All three pieces are signed "Schiaperelli." Utterly beguiling, I feel a thrill every time I see this choker clasped around someone's tender throat. Circa 1950.

Elsa Schiaparelli was a prominent Italian fashion designer. In 1927, she created the house of Schiaparelli in Paris, which she managed from the 1930s to the 1950s. She was celebrated for her surreal designs. Schiap, as she was often known, collaborated with Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau, and Coco Chanel was her greatest rival.

Details.....The necklace is approximately 16" long, the roses measure .70" in diameter. The earrings measures 1.06" in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
