Faux Star Sapphire Clip-Mates Brooch by Trifari

A superb Crown Trifari Clip-Mates brooch; gorgeous as is, the clever piece comes apart into two matching dress clips. Floral sprigs of faux star sapphires, tiny red rhinestone cabochons, and sparkling white rhinestones are tied in the middle with cold enameled blue ribbons. Pull the ends apart the dress clips slide off a frame. The dress clips are backed with a hinged clip (kind of like a bookmark) that fastens onto the edge of a piece of fabric. A brilliant piece that can be worn in many different ways. This highly collectible brooch was designed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari and is marked "Pat.No. 2050804," with the Crown Trifari mark. Circa 1945.

Trifari was a very collectible, high-end costume jewelry manufacturer producing during the 20th Century. Designer Alfred Philippe was the head designer for Trifari from 1930 until 1968. Philippe also designed for Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Details: The brooch measures 3.44" by 1.28", with each clip measuring 1.65" by 1.28". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
