Copper jewelry was all the rage from the late 1940s to the mid-1960s. From designer firms like Renoir and Matisse to small studio artists, this trend produced fabulous wearable art. This collectible necklace, signed for Matisse, has a bleeding heart flower motif and decadent red and black enamel. Scalloped copper plaques are enameled in red with black-spattered edges. Copper elements shaped like petaled hearts sit atop the enameled plaques' hinges. This wonderful necklace is finished with an original copper extender chain. This is a well known yet harder to find Matisse design. Circa 1950.

Details.....The necklace is 14" long, 18.25" with extender chain, and the enameled panels measure .65" long. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should expect some wear on all vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
