Hearts & Bluebells Diamond Set Gold Locket

A romantic Victorian heart locket embellished with a spray of bluebell flowers and a single bright diamond. 14k gold is moulded into an undulating bas-relief image, with repoussé metal work creating the flowers. The diamond is a .20ct old mine cut, set in one of the heart's upper lobes. The locket's back is engraved with the monogram "AM." The interior is nice and clean, with one intact frame and a tight clasp. A fantastic diamond-set platinum bale suspends the piece from a 14k gold rope chain. Circa 1880.

Bluebells are a symbol of everlasting love, and in the Victorian language of flowers, they mean humility and gratitude.

Details.....The chain is 19" long, and the locket measures 1.22" by 1.38", 1.65" with bale. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
