Romantic Mid Century Enamelled Rose Locket

This Mid Century sterling silver locket is replete with 1950s romance. The front of the round locket is adorned with a pink and green rose, blooming on a field of white guilloché enamel. The back of the pendant is plain. The interior is clean with no glass, and it is marked "Elgin American Made in U.S.A." An engraved bale suspends the locket from a vintage sterling silver paperclip chain. Circa 1950.

Guilloché enamel is a decorative technique in which a very precise, repetitive pattern is machine engraved into metal, then covered with a layer of translucent enamel. The intricate engraved geometric patterns are visible through the enamel.

Details.....The chain is 18" long. The locket measures 1.21" in diameter, 1.75" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear to antique and vintage jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
