The history of Black Hills Gold begins in 1874 when General George A. Custer's expedition discovered gold in South Dakota. The jewelry's iconic tri-color grape and leaf motifs was created by French goldsmith Henri LeBeau. In 1988, Black Hills Gold was designated as the official state jewelry of South Dakota.

This tiny ring is a darling example of Black Hills Gold: green and rose gold grape leaves are applied to a flat, tapered, 14k yellow gold band. Yellow gold vines twine around the leaves and grape clusters. Tiny rings were quite popular at the turn of the 20th Century. For safety's sake, we don't recommend allowing small children to wear these rings, but they make great pinky rings or charming pendants when threaded on a chain or ribbon.

Details.....A size 1. The ring's top measures 5.1mm wide, tapering to a 2.7mm shank. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
