Heraldic Blazon Agate Intaglio in Gold Signet Ring

Beautiful black and blue banded agate has been carved into a striking intaglio depicting what appears to be a heraldic blazon. An eagle head is pictured with a crown and shield surrounded by curling leaves. The carving is wonderful, delicate and highly detailed. The intaglio sits in a 14k gold signet-style ring with a smooth bezel and curvaceous shoulders that taper into a half round band. We do not know what this blazon represents, but there is no question the ring is as attractive as it is mysterious. Circa 1890.

Details... Currently a size 6.25. This ring may be sized up or down two sizes free of charge. The top of the ring measures 14.3mm by 15.6mm, and the band is 4mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
