A 19th-century Chinese silver ram pendant. The repoussé animal is a stout little creature with a pleasant face, curling horns, and shaggy fur wearing a saddle or riding blanket. The antique pendant hangs on a modern sterling silver shot bead necklace. Circa 1880.
The ram is the eighth animal in the Chinese zodiac; it symbolizes peace, prosperity, and gentleness. People born in the Year of the Ram are described as sincere, gentle, and creative.
Details.....The chain is 20" long, the pendant measures 1.44" by 1.65". In Very Good Antique Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and are considered part of the charm.
