A fantastic Peruvian brooch of a cat in sterling silver and 18k gold. The frisky feline is depicted in a stylized traditional manner, with alert ears, a curly tail, and bright turquoise eyes. He sits in a free-form concave of hammered and oxidized sterling silver, creating a striking graphic effect. The back of the brooch is signed "El Cuzco" and "18k 925." This unusual and attractive brooch is an exciting piece for a cat lover. Circa 1950.
