Ladies & Gentlemen 1939 Doubles Lawn Tennis Fob

This sterling silver fob commemorates the occasion of J. Briton placing Runner-Up in a 1939-40 Californian doubles lawn tennis tournament for Ladies & Gentlemen (or so our research suggests.) The front of the fob features a pretty shield with an engraved surround. The back is engraved with the circumstances of its presentation to J. Briton. While the tournament seems to have taken place in California, the fob was made in England and is hallmarked on the back for Birmingham, sterling silver, and 1939. The jump ring is hallmarked for sterling silver. This fun and interesting fob will make a very handsome pendant, particularly if worn on one of our Ancient Influences married chains.

Details: The pendant measures 1.06" across. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
