This unusual carved banded agate ring features an Early American shield, a star and 2 wheat sheaves. This design dates back to the civil war. The gold tests somewhere between 12k and 14k, not unusual for early American jewelry, as goldsmiths alloyed their own gold and there were no fineness laws in the US at the time. This ring is completely handmade and dates from the 1860's. Sizing is not recommended. It is a size 7.
