This sterling silver fob commemorates the occasion of J. Briton placing Runners-Up in a 1939-40 Californian doubles lawn tennis tournament for Ladies & Gentleman (or so our research suggests.) The front of the fob features a pretty shield with an engraved surround. The back is engraved with the circumstances of its presentation to J.Briton. While the tournament seems to have taken place in California, the fob was made in England. It is hallmarked on the back for Birmingham sterling silver and the year 1939. The jump ring is also hallmarked for sterling silver. This fun and interesting fob will make a very handsome pendant.
Details.....The pendant measures 1.06" across. In Very Good Vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
