This incredible French Belle Epoch pendant is a beautiful example of the desire to have just the right color with crystal clear translucence. A halo of square old mine-cut diamonds (even the open culets are square) surrounds the translucent dome of sapphire blue glass. The bow, ribbons, and drop are pavé set with twinkling rose-cut diamonds, and larger round old mine-cut diamonds are bezel set at the top and bottom. The use of Påte de Verre (literally glass paste) was an ancient Greek process, popularized anew in Art Nouveau France, with the purpose of making beautiful glass pieces that rivaled the finest gems. The use of beautiful quality diamonds cut to fit this jewel perfectly shows this stunning necklace was not an inexpensive trinket but a quality treasure made by one of France's finer Jewelers. The pendant and chain bear several French hallmarks, including an eagle head. The pendant is Platinum on 18k yellow gold, the height of style circa 1900, and the chain is Platinum.

Details.....The Platinum chain is 19" long, and the pendant measures .84" by 1.92". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
