Red Jade Dragon Carving

Some of my favourite jades are the ones that have been repurposed from their original antique form. This intricately carved Red Jade Dragon is elevated from its base by feet and tail. The back shows a carved curl of cloud and a circular button revealing the original purpose of this incredible piece of art, a button used to suspend a bag from a belt. Dragons are very significant in Chinese mythology, a symbol of potent and auspicious powers and strength. The bail and ring are 14k yellow gold. The jade 19th century.

Details.....The jade measures 1.59" x .64". In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
