When I first found each of these chains the thing that drew me was the beauty of their dark patina. This necklace combines a number of grey metals, coin silver, sterling silver, gun metal, and steel. The hook at the front with the locket on it has the word "COIN" on it for coin silver, I love the way the word looks on the hook, it's the little things like this that inspire me to join things together and create. The closure is an English hallmarked sterling watch hook that can also be utilized to hang another element from. The oval steel locket can be removed from the coin silver screw hook and be changed for anything you choose. All of the elements are vintage, antique and recycled. The ingredients date from c1850-1920.
Perfect for all of your favourite charms, lockets, and doodads. Just wind the threaded bit upwards and the seemingly seamless hook swivels open to allow the attachment of your choice, and then just close it and wind back down the threads. This type of hook is quite secure for anything you attach to it.
