It's a rare occasion when I find such a lovely pair of late 18th century earrings, rarer still to find them in the original fitted box.
This pair of Georgian earrings features deep green table cut Natural Emeralds set in rich 18k yellow gold. The body of the earrings is teardrop shaped with a slight curve to the back and a lovely detailed front. The emeralds are set in pushed over bezels with a sawtooth detail at the base.
Examination with a high powered loupe reveals details of the construction of these beauties. The handcrafted hinge and square hinge pin, the repoussé work of the surface and the little hand tooled details at the edges where the back and front meet.
They have hinged ear wires that go back to front, which is typical for this period.
Materials: 18k yellow gold and natural Emeralds.
Measurements: 19mm long and 11mm wide.
The box is a blue velvet with detailed metal clasp.
