Visually arresting these convertible earrings are like a flower vine for your ears. When I found these beauties only one top remained so I've had recycled 14k gold ear wires hand made for them. The delicate bottoms unhook so you can wear just the top, but being a more is more person I like them with all their bits attached. Early 1800's, made during the reign of the last of the Georges, the chunky rose cut diamonds are set piecrust style. The diamond shapes seem to correspond with the shape of the bit they are set in, check out the lozenge shaped ones in the leaves. Wearable history always wins my heart. 200 years old Silver on gold and patina intact.
Details.....The earrings measure 2.32" drop from ear with both sections and 1.59" with only the top section, they are .64" wide at their widest point. In lovely condition for their age with replaced wires.
