A gorgeous almandine garnet is set in an ornate engraved band in this lovely late 19th century ring. The gem is unusual: a flat, round table cut garnet. This beautiful stone is claw set in an engraved Cigar Band-style ring. Classically Victorian. Circa 1890.
In the 19th century "Cigar Band" referred to this popular style of wide, thin, decorated bands.
Details.....Currently a size 5.5. One free sizing is included with the purchase. The ring measures 11.7mm by 10.mm at the gem set top and 3.8mm at the back of the band. In Very Good vintage condition, a sizing mark to the back of the band. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
